Craft Beer Crowlers
Simplicity of Design
A Crowler is essentially an aluminum can that can be filled at the tap and sealed on the spot. The same design used to seal soda and suds for the better part of 50 years has finally made its way to the craft beer world, thanks to the partnership between Oskar Blues Brewery and Ball Corporation. Not long ago, representatives from the two companies put their heads together and developed a simple and efficient canning solution that even the smallest of craft breweries and some retailers could utilize.
The system itself is rather small – not much larger than a coffee machine. It’s easy to nest it right next to our taps. It’s simple to use, too. We simply fill the empty aluminum can with some CO2, add beer, place the lid on the can and insert it into the machine. Apply a little pressure, add a label, and voila! You have a beer to take down the road.
Benefits of Keeping Your Craft Beer in a Crowler

- Non-reusable, just enjoy and recycle the can wherever you’re at
- Doesn’t allow any light into the container
- Looks cool and is shiny 😉
- Seal liner in cap contains oxygen scavenger to help keep beer fresh
- Easy to pour out of!
Pack a Crowler or Two on Your Next Trip
By far the most popular benefit of a Crowler system is that you can fill one up with your favorite craft beer at Lone Star Taps and Caps in Lewisville and share it with your buddies in Fort Worth or wherever they might be. You can pack it in your car and compare it with other Crowlers in Texas or anywhere you might find yourself traveling to.
Because of the way Crowlers are sealed, they will stand up to the rigors of travel without damaging the quality of the beer they contain. This makes them a dream come true for beer lovers everywhere who enjoy sharing their favorite brews with friends far and wide.
